Mexican Tile Renew Project of 14 Year Old Flooring in Home in Boca Grande on Gasparilla Island in Southwest Florida.

Mexican Tile Renew Project of 14 Year Old Flooring in Home in Boca Grande on Gasparilla Island in Southwest Florida. Since Mexican tiles are handcrafted each tile is unique, uneven surfaces and not all sides are square so Mexican tile always ends up with a very wide grout joint sometimes up to 1" inch wide.
Mexican Tile Renew Project of 14 Year Old Flooring in Home in Boca Grande on Gasparilla Island in Southwest Florida. since the grout joints of Mexican tile are so wide it is recommended to use a darker color, if lighter colors are used it is highly recommended to keep the joints clean and sealed to avoid staining of the light grout color.
Mexican Tile Renew Project of 14 Year Old Flooring in Home in Boca Grande on Gasparilla Island in Southwest Florida. In most cases it is recommended to have your Mexican tile flooring stripped, cleaned and resealed every 8 to 10 years as eventually the applied sealer becomes firth and unable to keep clean. Mexican Tile Renew has been in the Mexican tile cleaning and sealing business for over 30 years A+ Better Business Bureau (BBB) Rating. CALL MEXICAN TILE RENEW 941-926-7444 we service Venice, Boca Grande, Nokomis, Osprey, Casey Key, Siesta Key, Sarasota, Bird Key, Long Boat Key, Lido Key, Lakewood Ranch, Holmes Beach, Anna Maria Island, South St Pete, and Bradenton Florida.
Mexican Tile Renew Project of 14 Year Old Flooring in Home in Boca Grande on Gasparilla Island in Southwest Florida. Mexican Tile's natural, warm colors and durability make it a popular choice for informal rooms, such as the kitchen and sun-room. Even a properly sealed floor eventually acquires layers of soil from foot traffic and frequent spills. Where the sealer has worn away or was never applied, the porous tile holds the dirt deeper than normal household cleaners and mops can reach. Dirt and stains are ground into waxes and acrylic coatings.

REVIEW FROM CUSTOMER: Luda S. Sarasota, FL 2/4/2016: "I wanted to thank Mexican tile Renew for the great job they have done (inside and outside) the property. The owner of the company stayed on the job for the entire duration — five + hours and worked side by side with his helpers. The result was — magnificent cleaned up old, damaged tiles inside of the house. They also cleaned and renewed the outside pool deck. It looked great until the pool company came and ruined all that great work. The owner was gracious and came back to review the damage done by negligent pool company and fixed the problem by stripping and sealing the space again. I was on a deadline to finish the job and I cannot thank them enough. It’s a good idea to consult with them and see if you need to clean or prepare your space (floor) prior to their arrival. The sealer was clear and was dry within few hours. Thank you so much, Mexican Tile Renew Really, really appreciated it your hard work and advice".

REVIEW FROM CUSTOMER: Wednesday, June 22, 2016...Recent Mexican Tile Renew Flooring Project At The Sarasota Home of Glenn Kroneberger With Customer Review. It appears that the Mexican tile floors at the home of Glenn K. needed some TLC. "We just had Mexican Tile Renew refinish our old saltillo (Mexican) tiles this past weekend. I could not have been more pleased with their work! They showed up when they said and did a beautiful job on our floors. It is obvious they know their craft and have a terrific work ethic. I would highly recommend them to anyone that wants to add value to their saltillo tiles".

Mexican Tile Restoration - Saltillo Tile Restoration Efflorescence, the white spots seen on Mexican tile, comes from the back of the tile not from the top of the tile. Efflorescence is a white crystalline deposit that is composed of salts, lime and/or other minerals, see example photo above. These deposits may become visible on many types of building surfaces such as concrete, stucco, grout, masonry, brick, natural stone, clay, ceramic tile, Mexican tile and even wood. These salts and minerals are water-soluble and generally come from the ground up or where cementitious or alkali substances exist (thin set motor used to set Mexican tile).

Degraded non-slip liner adhering to glaze

DO NOT USE RUBBER PADS UNDER CARPET ON MEXICAN TILE: THE OIL IN THE RUBBER PADDING WILL EAT IT'S WAY INTO THE FACE OF THE MEXICAN TILE AND LEAVE SMALL BLACK DOTS IN THE FINISH, WE CAN FIX IT!!

Under adverse conditions, after strong flooring strippers have been used, it may sometimes be necessary to sand old Mexican tiles that have Mex-Seal embedded in the tile and/or black/white dots from a rubber pad embedded in the tile, an oscillating hand held sander is used and does not mark the tile with any circles.

A simple sanding will take care of the problem seen above using a small oscillating sander, oscillating sanders are easy to control, you can use them to round edges, sand inside corners as well as smooth a flat or rough surface. If stain appears near the surface of sealed clay, gently try sanding away stain.

Saltillo Tile cleaned & sealed. Never "Steam Clean" Mexican tile floors or use vinegar (Acetic acid) it will ruin the finish. We do not use solvent based and dangerous products.

Do not ever use acid of any kind to clean your Mexican Tile and grout, acids are corrosive they will ruin any applied finish and eventually break down the clay in the Mexican tile with disastrous results.  Household products such as white vinegar, which contains about 5–20% acetic acid, should never be used on Mexican tile to clean your floor.
